Position Overview:
The Mould Maintenance Officer will handle preventive and breakdown maintenance of injection moulds, ensuring mould readiness, longevity, and minimal production downtime. This role requires strong technical capability in mould dismantling, polishing, assembly, defect analysis, and maintenance documentation. The officer will play a key role in sustaining mould life, securing quality output, and supporting efficient changeovers for automotive plastic manufacturing.
Qualifications:
ITI / IGTR / DME / DEE / BE / B.Tech / CIPET
Hands-on experience in mould maintenance within plastic injection environments
Familiarity with high-cavity moulds and automotive-quality expectations
Key Responsibilities:
Drive end-to-end ownership of mould maintenance activities ensuring performance reliability
Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of injection moulds per schedule
Dismantle, clean, polish, and reassemble moulds with precision and alignment accuracy
Collaborate cross-functionally with production teams for mould changes, trials, and fitment
Identify mould defects, conduct root cause analysis, and take corrective actions
Ensure process adherence, quality benchmarks, and safety guidelines during maintenance work
Maintain mould history cards, maintenance logs, and spare usage documentation
Support continuous improvement initiatives for mould life extension and rejection reduction
Skills Required:
Proven expertise in injection mould maintenance & troubleshooting
Knowledge of hot runner and cold runner moulds, components, and functioning
Strong skills in polishing, fitting, alignment, and mould assembly
Basic understanding of mould design, materials, vents, cooling systems, and wear points
Ability to coordinate with tool rooms, manage documentation, and ensure maintenance discipline
Special Requirements:
Preference for candidates from the Automotive Plastic Industry
Hands-on exposure to high-cavity and high-precision moulds
Ability to independently handle shift-based mould maintenance activities
