Position Overview:

The NPD Head will lead and manage the complete development cycle of new products—from concept evaluation to production handover. This role plays a critical part in translating customer requirements into manufacturable solutions, ensuring technical feasibility, cross-functional coordination, process optimization, and timely execution. The position demands strong engineering capability, problem-solving skills, and ownership of end-to-end development outcomes.

Qualifications:

• BE Mechanical / DME from a recognized institution

• Strong foundation in engineering drawings and manufacturing processes

• Hands-on experience in plastic injection moulding (preferred)

• Ability to lead cross-functional coordination during development cycles

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle new product development activities from concept evaluation to successful production launch

• Study, interpret, and validate engineering drawings and customer specifications

• Collaborate with production, quality, and tooling teams for trials, feasibility assessment, and process readiness

• Drive process planning, technical reviews, and manufacturability analysis

• Support product costing activities and assist in BOM preparation for new components

• Monitor trial reports, analyze deviations, and implement required design or process modifications

• Ensure timely completion of NPD milestones and structured handover to production teams

• Maintain and update all technical documents, records, and development-related reports

• Work closely with vendors for tooling, materials, and trial-related support

• Promote continuous improvement initiatives in product design and development processes

Skills Required:

• Strong expertise in New Product Development (NPD) cycles and methodologies

• Proficiency in engineering drawing reading, GD&T interpretation, and technical specifications

• Hands-on experience conducting product trials and coordinating with tooling and production teams

• Capability to support process planning, feasibility studies, and manufacturability assessments

• Effective coordination with production, quality, vendors, and cross-functional teams

• Knowledge of costing support, BOM creation, and documentation practices

• Ability to maintain structured and accurate technical documentation

• Continuous improvement mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Special Requirements:

• Mandatory experience in New Product Development within a manufacturing environment

• Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications

• Practical exposure to product trials and process validation

• Proven capability in technical documentation and structured reporting

• Experience in vendor coordination related to tooling or development activities
