Position Overview:

We are looking for experienced Design Engineers to design and develop tools, dies, fixtures, and gauges for blade manufacturing processes such as shearing, punching, bending, and heat treatment. The role requires expertise in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA), strong problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience in tooling design and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges for manufacturing processes.

  • Create detailed 2D/3D CAD models and technical drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA.

  • Study existing manufacturing setups and recommend improvements in tooling, material flow, and layout.

  • Conduct trials and develop prototypes to validate tool performance.

  • Modify designs based on production and quality feedback.

  • Troubleshoot tooling issues on the shop floor and provide technical support.

  • Analyze tool failure modes and implement corrective/preventive measures.

  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for tool development and commissioning.

  • Ensure designs meet safety, productivity, and quality standards.

  • Maintain complete documentation of tool design, revisions, and specifications.

  • Participate in cost estimation, value engineering, and productivity enhancement initiatives.

Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA).

  • Strong knowledge of tool steels, heat treatment, stamping, forming, and machining processes.

  • Familiarity with GD&T, tolerance analysis, and FMEA techniques.

  • Understanding of jigs, fixtures, gauges, and press tool design.

  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset.

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple design projects with deadlines.

Special Parameters:

  • Hands-on experience in tools or sheet metal manufacturing preferred.

  • Expertise in CAD tools and manufacturing process optimization.

  • Ability to deliver cost-effective and scalable tooling solutions.
