Position Overview:

The NPD Head will lead the development of new products, optimize existing solutions, and align design strategies with company objectives. This role requires strong leadership in Wiring Harness NPD, hands-on experience with CAD-CAM & Catia software, and expertise in project planning, cycle time reduction, and vendor coordination.

Qualifications:

• BE / B.Tech (Mechanical) or equivalent.

• Relevant certifications will be an added advantage.

Experience:

• Minimum 10 years in New Product Development (NPD).

• Prior experience in the Wiring Harness industry is mandatory.

Responsibilities:

• Develop new technologies or optimize existing solutions aligned with company goals.

• Conceptualize, design, and test new products or product series.

• Define problems, conduct research, analyze criteria, and identify solutions.

• Lead initiatives for cycle time reduction and cross-functional teamwork (CFT).

• Work proficiently with CAD-CAM, Catia, and other design tools.

• Ensure proper documentation and compliance with industry standards.

• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors for smooth NPD execution.

• Manage productivity improvement projects and troubleshoot technical challenges.

Skills

• Knowledge of IATF 16949/2009 standards.

• Strong understanding of 5S, Pokayoke, and Kaizen practices.

• Basic knowledge of PPAP documentation.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to handle multiple engineering projects simultaneously.

• Expertise in project planning, strategy development, and execution.

• Vendor management and cross-functional coordination skills.

• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Special Parameters

• Proven 10+ years in NPD with Wiring Harness industry expertise.

• Proficiency in CAD and CAM, Catia is a must.

• Hands-on experience in productivity improvement and troubleshooting.

• Strong leadership and project management capabilities.
