Position Overview:
The NPD Executive / Sr. Officer will be responsible for managing end-to-end new product development activities—from feasibility study to tooling coordination, sample development, PPAP, and handover to production. This role directly contributes to timely project execution, customer satisfaction, and the company’s ability to introduce new components efficiently in a competitive automotive manufacturing environment.
Qualifications:
BE (Mechanical) / B.Tech (Mechanical) / DME
Strong technical foundation in engineering drawings and injection moulding processes
Experience managing new product development activities in manufacturing setups
Key Responsibilities:
Drive end-to-end ownership of New Product Development (NPD) activities from concept to production
Coordinate with customers to understand drawings, specifications, and feasibility requirements
Conduct feasibility studies, cost estimation, and process planning for new components
Collaborate cross-functionally with tool room, production, and quality teams for development trials
Monitor sample development, PPAP documentation, approvals, and pilot production runs
Ensure process adherence, quality benchmarks, and timelines throughout NPD phases
Maintain NPD documentation, project trackers, and report status updates to management
Support continuous improvement and optimization in design, process flow, and manufacturability
Skills Required:
Strong understanding of plastic injection moulding processes and tooling dependencies
Excellent engineering drawing reading and interpretation of technical specifications
Proven capability in project coordination, cross-functional communication, and customer interaction
Exposure to APQP / PPAP, trial management, and structured development cycles
Ability to support cost estimation, process feasibility, and development optimization
Strong analytical and documentation skills for NPD reporting
Special Requirements:
Preference for candidates from the Automotive Plastic Industry
Hands-on exposure to new mould trials and product launch activities
Ability to manage multiple NPD projects simultaneously
